FRANCE - L'artiste (2011)

Hollywood, 1927: As silent movie star George Valentin (French superstar Jean Dujardin who won Best Actor in Cannes for this performance) wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion, he sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break. Shot exactly like a silent film, this delightful throwback comedy to the Golden era of Hollywood is a testament to pure cinema.

One night, a woman arrives with no luggage and no shoes. Her name is Fiona and she tells Dom that she is a fairy that can grant him three wishes. Fiona makes two of his wishes come true then mysteriously disappears. Dom. who has fallen in love with her by then, searches for her everywhere.

Cyril doesn't recognize the love Samantha feels for him, a love he desperately needs to calm his rage.

LE HAVRE

Marcel Marx, a former bohemian and struggling author, has given up his literary ambitions and relocated to the port city Le Havre. As Arletty suddenly becomes seriously ill, Marcel's path crosses with an underage illegal immigrant from Africa, who needs Marcel's help to hide from the police.
