Who We Are
Jefferson Finney | President of EuroCinema Hawai'i
Founded and incorporated in 2009 as a non-profit, EuroCinema Hawai’i (ECH) is dedicated to the advancement of understanding among and cultural exchange between the peoples of Europe and Hawai’i through the medium of film.
In 2010, EuroCinema began their partnership with the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF). This partnership created a festival within a festival and serves to highlight the latest preeminent European films.
An important part of EuroCinema Hawai'i 501c3 charter is providing financial support for creative media students in the state of Hawaii who demonstrate extraordinary promise and talent in the fields of cinema, television, documentaries, and animation.
EuroCinema is a year round endeavor which, in addition to our annual film festival, sponsors intimate "ECH Salons" - cultural exchanges designed to bring our community together with special guest speakers and events.
Our annual EuroCinema festival includes a jury comprised of film directors, producers, actors and film scholars charged with selecting the Princess Dialta Alliata di Montereale Award for Best Film and Best Student Film, as well as EuroCinema Awards for the categories of Best Director, Best Actress and Best Actor.
EuroCinema Hawai’i is excited to share the extraordinary and diverse cinematic heritage of European films with the people of Hawaii and its visitors.
